The Admin/Shepherd Boards will meet tomorrow at 7 pm.
WAS – Wednesdays Alive at Seymour begins on September 21. We have supper at 6 pm followed by programs for all ages. Zone 3 is in charge of set-up on Tuesday evening at 7 pm and hosting the meal on Wednesday.
Community Family Fun Night! Thank you to everyone who participated in our outreach event last night! From game leaders to welcome/registration staffers to cookie bakers/servers and set-up/take-down laborers to candy/pop donors – you ALL played an important role in serving our church and neighborhood community by being the hands and feet of Christ!
Pencil Drive – Our bin is overflowing! Thank you so much for your continued support of our El Salvador project! Please remember to come to church school on Sunday, October 2, to hear Jim Apol tell us about his upcoming mission trip.
Zumba Fitness Class – Join the fun and get fit in the process! Zumba is an instructor led class of dance moves that can be enjoyed by all ages for the purpose of exercise and fitness. Seymour’s Health Ministry has arranged for Aimee DenHollander to lead a class at Seymour Church. www.zumba.com/en-US/profiles/78249/aimee-dehollander. We will meet on Mondays in the church basement from 6:00 – 6:45pm starting on September 26 and concluding on December 12. (No class on October 24 & 31.) Sopranos Needed: Our Sanctuary Choir is especially in need of soprano voices. We begin rehearsals today at 11 AM in the sanctuary. Please feel free to join if you are one who enjoys singing melody. You would be most welcome!
Music Lovers–Rejoice! There are opportunities for you to use your voice and/or musical instrument at Seymour! Voices and instruments are needed in the choir, worship teams, and group/solo presentations. The choir resumes practice today and new worship team schedules are being made. VIS Opportunity – Volunteers In Service (VIS) is looking for a volunteer to help an 84 year old woman who lives on her own near Madison & Alger. She can’t walk very well and is afraid of falling because she has severe arthritis. She’s hoping to have knee replacement surgery soon. In the meantime, she’s in need of a volunteer to help her with basic house cleaning a couple times a month; things like vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the shower/tub, and mopping. If you’re willing to help serve this individual, please contact Nathan Bos (nathansbos@gmail.com) or your zone deacon.
Classis East News – Mark your calendars for our first Classis East Worship Service on Sunday, October 16 at 4 pm at the Calvin Chapel. Pastor Reggie Smith will be our Guest speaker. An Ice Cream Social will follow at 5 pm. Check out the Classis East website at www.greast.org
