A safe, free, and fun way for your kids to spend Halloween in Alger Heights this year!
**NOTE: Due to rising positivity rates in Kent County, we have had to re-configure our event. Read below for more details.**
Join us at Seymour Church parking lot from 5-7pm for:
- Lots of candy at decorated, safely distanced tables
- Free books from Storytime in the Park and ZonderKidz*
- A take-home craft kit*
- Jazz music by Alger Heights’ own GR Groove band
(*while supplies last)
All children must be accompanied by a parent or trusted adult. Drop-bys are welcome, but to help us plan and cut down on wait times, please sign up today to reserve your spot!
There will be a suggested donation of 1 hygiene item per family for Take Two, a hygiene pantry run by Seymour Church. Visit the Take Two website to learn more and view a list of suggested items.
Parking is available across the street at Alger Middle School.
In case of rain, we will switch to a drive-through Trunk-or-Treat. Load up the kids in the car and come on over!
What We’re Doing to Keep It Safe:
- This is a walk-thru event only. Please plan to walk or park your vehicle at Alger Middle School. Entrance will be via Marshall Ave. There may be a line, be prepared to wait for entry.
- All volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves.
- We’ve transitioned from using multiple vehicles to several decorated/themed stations throughout our parking lot.
- Candy will be distributed in a no-contact way, with surfaces wiped down regularly.
- Physical distancing will be in place in all areas, with strict 6-feet-apart guidelines monitored by volunteers.
- Our event will have a one-way flow to minimize risk of proximity to others.
- We will be closely watching Kent County’s COVID-19 infection rate and will cancel the event if needed. Please keep an eye on our Facebook event page as well as this webpage for updates.
