The Seymour Music Ministries strive to complement the preaching of the Word at every service. Please contact Ilene (ilene@seymourchurch.org) with any questions or to join any of the following ministries.
Sanctuary Choir
Did you know that the word “choir” simply means “together”? As a traditional SATB choir, one of our goals is to blend our voices “together” to become one voice of praise to God. Come sing with us as we strive to complement the preaching of the Word through a variety of choral music. We sing twice a month and rehearse on Sundays at 11 AM in the sanctuary.
Worship Teams
Our intergenerational vocalists and instrumentalists introduce and lead a variety of blended music: traditional, global, spirituals, as well as older and newer contemporary songs. Various teams sing for every service, rehearsing at 8:30 AM on their assigned Sundays and on select Thursday evenings. We encourage singers and instrumentalists to become part of the team!
Rainbow Kids
Does your child love to sing? Through repetitive learning and interactive games, simple devotion and prayer, Rainbow Kids is a gentle and fun introduction to choral worship. The group meets every other Wednesday on WAS nights from 5:00-5:40 PM. The Rainbow Kids perform/lead worship in the main sanctuary approximately 8 times during the school year.
Instrumentalists
Instrumentalists of all kinds are appreciated and incorporated into many areas of Seymour music. We encourage brass, woodwinds, strings, guitars, percussion, keyboard, and even more non-conventional instruments, such as ukuleles and dulcimers, to be used in our music. Each is used as one’s gifts allow for solos, ensembles, and accompanying our worship teams and choirs. We enjoy finding the hidden talents that members possess and putting them to good use!
